from KRLA, one of the two major top 40 radio stations in Los
Angeles in the 1960s, KFWB being the other. These charts
demonstrate the fact that Chicano artists, most from East
L.A., shared the top 40 with major artists of the era such
as The Beatles, The Supremes, Elvis Presley, The Beach Boys,
James Brown, and Ray Charles. Below each chart, I list
the Chicano artists, their hit song title, and chart position.
